Exodus says that the Israelites were slaves in Egypt – and though the Bible does not mention the pyramids specifically, popular belief since ancient times has held that …Pyramids had stopped being built (none of those we've found were built between roughly 1759 and 721 BCE: while this may seem close enough to 1700 that's easily two generations, and effectively a whole country away) by then and the Canaanites were certainly not building them! There's absolutely no reason to believe we built the pyramids. The Torah doesn't mention it, the sages don't mention it, and I think their history is relatively well understood. Someone just had a vague, general knowledge of the Bible and a vague, general knowledge of Egypt and (incorrectly) put two and two together.
